Ways to get it

About this mattress

The DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam Mattress pairs a breathable, cool-to-the-touch cover with a contouring memory foam comfort layer, so you get gentle, cushioned support without sleeping hot. It is built for sleepers who want the pressure relief of memory foam paired with a calm, no-fuss feel.

How It's Built

The mattress starts with a quilted CloudQuilt cover designed to stay cool against the skin. Underneath, a contouring memory foam layer eases pressure at the shoulders and hips, while an adaptive support foam layer helps keep your spine aligned through the night. A foundational support foam base stabilizes the mattress and helps minimize motion transfer, so movement on one side of the bed is less likely to disturb a partner on the other. All foams used are CertiPUR-US certified and fiberglass free. At roughly 12 inches thick, this is a mid profile mattress that works well with most standard bed frames and is also compatible with adjustable bases.

Feel and Fit

Expect a gentle, cushioned feel with subtle contouring rather than a deep sink. That makes it a comfortable option for back and combination sleepers who want pressure relief without losing support, and it can also suit side sleepers who prefer a softer touch at the shoulders and hips. Because it ships compressed in a box, plan for up to 48 hours after unboxing for the mattress to fully expand before regular use.

Why this one

What makes this mattress different

Extra-firm support

DreamCloud rates the Classic Memory Foam Extra-Firm, the firmest bed in its memory foam line. The surface has very little give, so you lie on the bed, not in it.

  1. 1" of memory foam

One inch of contouring memory foam under the cover eases pressure at the hips and back without a deep sink.

  2. CloudQuilt top with cooling fibers

A quilted foam top with cooling polyethylene fibers. DreamCloud built it to breathe and to stay cool to the touch.

  1. Responsive support foam

An adaptive support layer of responsive foam sits under the memory foam and helps keep the spine in line.

  2. Higher-density foam base

A stabilizing foundation layer of higher-density foam keeps the layers in place and reinforces the edges.

  3. Fiberglass-free, CertiPUR-US foams

DreamCloud lists the Classic as 100% fiberglass-free. Its foams are CertiPUR-US certified.

  4. No box spring needed

DreamCloud says a slatted frame is enough, and the bed works on most frames, adjustable bases included.

The build

Twelve inches, five layers

From the top down, as DreamCloud lists them:

  • CloudQuilt top. Quilted foam with cooling polyethylene fibers.

  • Adaptive support layer. Responsive foam that helps keep the spine in line.
  • Stabilizing foundation layer. A higher-density foam base with reinforced edge support.
  • Bottom cover. Durable, shift-resistant poly-blend fabric.

12 inches in total. DreamCloud publishes the depth of the memory foam layer only. The foams are CertiPUR-US certified, and the bed is 100% fiberglass-free.

Who it fits

For sleepers who want a very firm surface

Stomach sleepers: DreamCloud names stomach sleepers as the fit for the Classic. The firm surface keeps the hips from sinking below the shoulders.

Sleepers who need a firm bed: DreamCloud describes it as ultra supportive with very little give, for people who need a firmer surface to keep the spine aligned.

Value seekers: DreamCloud calls the Classic its value pick. It keeps the CloudQuilt top and the fiberglass-free, CertiPUR-US foams.

Side sleepers: most want more give at the shoulder and hip. DreamCloud lists side sleepers for the softer Luxe and Ultra memory foam beds.

Frequently asked questions

Find a showroom
How firm is the Classic Memory Foam?

DreamCloud calls it Extra-Firm, the firmest bed in its memory foam line. It has very little give.

How is it different from the Classic Hybrid?

This Classic is all foam, on a higher-density foam base. The Classic Hybrid adds individually wrapped coils, which DreamCloud says add stability and longevity and improve motion isolation. DreamCloud rates the memory foam Classic firmer.

Classic or Premier Memory Foam?

The Premier is an inch taller at 13 inches. It adds a euro top, 2 inches of memory foam instead of 1, and twice the cooling fibers. DreamCloud rates it Firm, one step softer than the Classic's Extra-Firm.

Does it sleep hot?

The CloudQuilt top has cooling polyethylene fibers and is built to breathe. The Classic has no phase change layer. DreamCloud adds one in the Luxe and the Ultra.

Does it have fiberglass?

No. DreamCloud lists it as 100% fiberglass-free, and its foams are CertiPUR-US certified for content, emissions, and durability.

How tall is it, and will my sheets fit?

12 inches. Choose fitted sheets made for mattresses 12 inches deep or more.

What base does it need?

No box spring is needed. DreamCloud says its mattresses work on most bed frames, adjustable bases included, and that a slatted frame is enough. DreamCloud does not recommend the floor, or plastic or homemade frames.

How long does it take to expand?

DreamCloud says its mattresses are ready for sleep a couple of hours after unboxing and can take up to 72 hours to reach full size. Air pressure, airflow, and room temperature can change the timing.

What warranty comes with it?

DreamCloud's Forever Warranty, a lifetime limited warranty for the original purchaser. Ask our team for the written warranty terms with your order.

Can I try it in a showroom?

Not this bed. It is sold online only at Mattress Overstock, so it is not set up on our showroom floors.
