Room check

Put the bed in your room, to scale.

Type your room's width and length. The mattress goes against the head wall, and the drawing measures the floor left on each side and past the foot.

In a 12 ft x 12 ft room, a Queen leaves 42 in. on each side and 64 in. past the foot.

  • Grid squares are 1 ft. Mattresses and room share one scale.
  • Mattress only. A bed frame, headboard or footboard adds to it.
  • Sizes as Sealy's size guide prints them. A finished mattress can run up to half an inch short of these; Serta lists its Queen at 60 x 79.5 in. Sources: Sealy, Serta
  • For reference, Purple's size guide says to leave at least two feet around the mattress. Source
