Stronger Than the Storm: Somerset Reopens & Richmond Welcomes Mattress Overstock
We have two pieces of news to share with our Kentucky family today — one that fills us with deep pride, and one that fills us with genuine excitement. Our Somerset store has officially reopened in a brand-new location, and we've opened our doors in Richmond, Kentucky for the very first time.
Somerset: Rebuilt, Relocated & Ready
On the night of May 16, 2025, an EF-4 tornado carved a devastating path through Somerset and London, Kentucky. Eighteen lives were lost. Over a hundred people were injured. Businesses, homes, and entire neighborhoods were reduced to rubble. Our Somerset store — a place where thousands of families had come to find better sleep — was among the buildings destroyed.
We're not going to sugarcoat it: the months that followed were hard. Watching our community pick up the pieces of something so catastrophic tested all of us. But Somerset has always been tougher than any storm, and we knew from day one that we'd be back.
Today, our new Somerset location is open and fully stocked at 2835 S Hwy 27, Suite 320.
The new store is bigger, better laid out, and packed with over 100 mattresses from the brands you love — Tempur-Pedic, Purple, Beautyrest, Sealy, Nectar, DreamCloud, and more. We designed this showroom from the ground up with one goal: making it easier than ever for you to walk in, lie down, and find your perfect mattress.
